Flipping Sites and Google Page 1

I’m not a total hardcore internet marketer. I don’t have a team of people working for me. I don’t have a large portfolio of websites cranking out cash. I don’t have a bunch of autoresponders convincing people on my lists to pull out their credit cards to buy from me. I sure as hell don’t have intricate funnels and link wheels woven together to lead people to my money sites.

None of that.

I literally just have a handful of websites. That’s it. No mailing list. I know. Shocking. I need to set one up and I have an ebook that explains the basics. Haven’t gotten around to doing it.

I have read and researched flipping websites to death. Don’t know how much more I could learn but I’m sure there are ways and different twists to flipping. I feel like I need to read more about it.

I have bought 5 domains for the purpose of growing them for a few months, sort of establishing them with content, traffic, and hopefully make a few bucks from Adsense. 3 of them are almost 2 months old. The other 2 are a couple weeks old and are geared towards the Halloween costume niche.

I’m a pretty good writer. A straight A student in all my English classes in both high school and college. However, being grammatically correct isn’t quite necessary in internet marketing. But writing articles endlessly bores me to death. And I’m still confused about producing traffic for my sites. I’ve read so much about different traffic generation methods, it’s mind boggling.

Damn it. I just want to keep it all simple.

I’ve read somewhere on the Warrior Forum that the ones who ARE making a lot of money find it very easy to generate cash. There are so many different ways. But newbies like me are finding it very hard to make a few bucks a month.

So after having this website for 9(?) years, it’s been indexed and produces piss drops of traffic per month. However, if I tried searching for this site using its main keyword, the site would be lost in the endless pages of Google.

But today, I searched for it. To my pleasant surprise, I found it on the first page in the number 4 spot! That’s out of 44,000,000 sites. Wow!

My stretch marks site, dating site, and dog biting site are indexed but nowhere to be found when searching for their main keywords. An article I submitted for the dog biting site is found on page 2.

On the flip side, I am happy to report that my vampire site is #2 on page 1. I was also amused that my other 3 page costume site that I erected last night is #6 on page 1 also. Needless to say, I’m keeping my 2 Halloween sites and probably going to create more sites in that niche.

I will end up selling the first 3 sites that I bought for flipping. They’re not doing much for me right now. I talked it over with my hubby. Eventually when I have the money, I’m going to buy a handful of premium plugins and some plr books to package up with my sites to add more value. Wish me luck.

Keywords and Google Goodness

I’ve spent the last several weeks reading and studying up on building minisites as well as sites geared towards the Halloween holiday. I read that this holiday is a multibillion dollar industry. And I believe it!

Some of my friends spend hundreds of dollars, if not more, on their costumes. Others create their own costumes. Needless to say, money is spent like crazy during this holiday.

I built 2 sites, one geared towards dogs, and the other is for stretch marks. I’m quite proud of the designs that I created for each. However, I don’t know if they’re going to do well with Adsense. Lately, I haven’t created any new content for them because I’ve been a bit discouraged. But I really need to start up with them again. I need the traffic and adsense proof to be able to sell them in a few months. That’s the ultimate goal with them.

The 3rd site I’m very excited about. It’s a vampire costume site. There are about 12 pages (not including the TOS, privacy etc), each talking briefly about a particular vampire costume. Yesterday I spent most of the day creating those pages.

Today I decided to spend several hours creating some backlinks and traffic generation. I’m quite excited about it. Yesterday Google didn’t know it existed. But today after I finished my traffic project, Google has not only indexed my site, but my site is also in the #1 and #5 positions for its main keyword! How friggin’ bad ass is that?! I’m tickled pink about it ;) I know I’m definitely doing something right.

At the rate I’m going with the vampire site, it should do really well come Halloween in terms of traffic and sales. It’ll probably sell really well if I choose to sell the site. But I don’t think I want to sell the site ;). I plan on building different websites, including more costume sites.
